Comments from the Development Team.

We greatly appreciate all the incredibly positive feedback we received.
Despite the short application period, we received far more applicants than we were expecting. As a result, the odds of being selected in the lottery became extremely slim. We sincerely apologize to all those who could not take part.

Through this test, the development team has also been made aware of various issues, and will use the issue reports and opinions we received to improve the game as we continue development. We would love it if those who have played the Digimon Card Game before, as well as those who are new to it or have been away from the game for a while, would invite their friends and play together when the game is released. We hope we'll be able to live up to everyone's expectations!

Majority Opinions

[Positive Opinions]

  • ・As a card game app, it did a good job conveying the story and characters.
  • ・The characters had a lot of appeal, and the original Digimon fit naturally into the setting, which helped leave a good impression.
  • ・Matchmaking was quick, and the game ran smoothly.

[Negative Opinions]

  • ・The story scenes were a little lacking, and it was difficult at times to understand who was speaking to who.
  • ・In matchmaking, I would often be matched against the same opponent or an opponent with a different skill level to mine.
  • ・There were several times when I was matched with the same person 3 times in a row.
Comments from the Development Team.

In this section, we received many opinions regarding the story.
We will be adjusting the story mode's presentation to make it easier to visualize and follow as we move towards the official launch of the game.

Although we received some feedback saying matchmaking was smooth and low stress, the Closed β Test saw participants joining from various places around the world, and we also received feedback saying the matchmaking could be frustrating during times when fewer players were online.

As we work towards the official release, we will continue making improvements so more players can enjoy battles smoothly.

Majority Opinions

[Positive Opinions]

  • ・The controls were easy to understand, and I was able to enjoy playing.
  • ・The UI and effects looked great, and it was relatively easy to understand and use.
  • ・The cards and alt-art animations were cool.
  • ・The number of cards in your hand increased when Digivolving, so it was difficult to run out of cards, and the pacing of battles was good.
  • ・It was very easy and intuitive to build a deck with the cards you've acquired.

[Negative Opinions]

  • ・There were times when swiping the screen didn't register correctly, and many situations required precise input.
  • ・The card text was small, and the effects were packed into a small frame, making it difficult to read.
  • ・The special animations for alt-art cards were appealing, but overall they felt somewhat plain and didn't leave much of an impression.
  • ・It was difficult to tell what effects were applied to me and it was hard to understand what was going on.
  • ・It felt difficult to build a deck and there were times I wanted to avoid building one altogether.
Comments from the Development Team.

In this section, a lot of feedback expressed frustration with battle controls, pacing of the animations, card visibility, and more. We fully acknowledge these comments and are focusing on reviewing the battle screen's UI design to ensure a more enjoyable battle experience, making this our top priority.

We've also received a lot of negative feedback in regard to deck editing.
To enable more players to use cards in various playstyles, we'll be adding info and implementing features to aid in deckbuilding as we work towards the official launch.

Majority Opinions

[Positive Opinions]

  • ・The rules were very easy to understand and the story at the beginning tied in nicely.
  • ・The tasks for each phase were explained clearly, making the gameplay feel smooth and well-paced.
  • ・The tutorial was short and simple. It was fun being able to open packs and immediately start going into matches.

[Negative Opinions]

  • ・I wanted to check the cards' effects during the tutorial, but I was prompted to move forward which made it difficult for me to review the effects.
  • ・The tutorial wasn't bad, but by the time the Closed β Test ended I still didn't really know how to build a deck.
  • ・There were lengthy, unskippable animations which made me feel the pacing could've been better at times.
Comments from the Development Team.

In this tutorial we tried combining the world setting, story, and rule explanations. However, we received a lot of feedback noting how the pacing for the tutorial felt off or that the tutorial went on for too long.

For the future, we are considering adding features that make it easier to play and improving the pacing of the tutorial, so that even those who have never experienced the Digimon Card Game can enjoy it.
